Considering how Apple has increased the price of the recent iPhones, i’d say there is a very good chance they will increase the prices of these newly redesigned iPad pros. I make no predictions, but I am preparing for them to cost more than the current models for sure.

$200 price increase but the Pencil is included with every iPad Pro ;)

Apple is more likely to raise prices then lower them, so I'd not expect any deals or savings related to the next gen iPads.

No wonder apple has the courage to charge ever-higher price. By endorsing and setting expectations based on apple past pricing practices we are subconsciously being socially engineered to accept whatever pricing decisions they made.

Doesn’t matter. Wait and get one for hundreds off as they usually get discounted quickly.

I agree with the sentiment, "never pay MSRP", but it matters because iPads (Pro or non-Pro) do NOT get discounted "hundreds off" (the most by a retailer was $175 on the 12.9 Pro by Best Buy and Staples) and the benefits of any discounted price are lessened by a higher MSRP.

Apple is not going to explicitly raise prices on the iPad Pros, but they ARE going to have higher MSRPs for their newer models. That sounds like a difference without a distinction but Apple will be changing screen sizes and that alone is enough to prevent anyone from making an apples-to-apples comparison.

Apple wants to maintain it's boutique status and with other companies getting into the higher-priced tiers, Apple needs to have their products have even higher MSRPs.

I don’t think they will raise the price that much, it will turn people away from the iPad Pro and either towards an iPad 2018 or even a Mac. However I do think they may raise the price by about £100 to £150 for the new iPad Pro’s. The high end 512GB iPad Pro 2017 is already over a thousand pounds, I brought one last year and if they raise the price too much we will be talking about MacBook prices.

Another question is will they also raise the price of the accessories? Will the Apple Pencil and ASK get a price raise? I really hope they improve on the ASK keyboard it’s the one reason why I can fully move over to using just an iPad Pro as my main machine, I do a lot of long writing sessions and the ASK just isn’t comfortable or even practical for it.

Im going to venture a guess and say 800 as a good starting point and ill tell you why. The Iphone XR.

now lets say the new ipad has the same liquid Retina technology in it as the Xr. One would reason it would have to inorder to get the curved corners and i would venture simular cameras and a slightly better processor. (A12X)

The XR starts at 749. So i fugure that or 800 is a fair entry point.

Now lets keep in mind that they want the ipad pro to still be less then a macbook which i think retails for 1200 at the moment.

So id figure base models for both sizes would have to be 1000 or less

Now add your usual 100 dollars per higher storage and i think thats a resonable expectation.

Throw in 100 pecil, 160 keyboard (this year it would have to have a back cover if it is indeed connected to the back instead of the side

And u have a rough ballpark figure

You’re probably right, don’t forget the new 13” “budget” MacBook is expected to start around $1000 as well, bringing them both in line with each other. Personally I hope they update the ASK as well as the Apple Pencil.

I think they will raise prices a little. But, they are very much limited by the fact that the tablet market isn’t growing crazily and is somewhat stagnant. Most people just need and have a phone. People who need a laptop buy one. Mostly a tablet is an extra device. If they are priced too high people will just do without. But everyone needs a phone and some need a laptop. If the iPad becomes a 2 in 1 like a surface pro they can charge more. But right now, anyone who needs something like a 2 in 1 will just get a MacBook.

In pure hardware horsepower, the iPad Pro is probably going to be superior to the MacBook in every way (besides maybe 2GB less RAM capacity) so it's a bit artificial if the MacBook is forever priced above the iPP just-because.

Once Apple goes ARM and stops paying the Intel-tax on laptop CPUs, I think we'll see a correction.

But the iPad Pro isn’t as productive as the Mac, that’s the problem. MacOS is a brilliant OS and is really the only reason why I haven’t switched to a Surface so far. A MacBook is great and I’m not saying that the iPad Pro isn’t, I think they are and I’m looking forward to what Apple show off for both the iPad Pro and Mac’s at the event but with IOS the iPad Pro just isn’t as productive.
