Hi guys n girls

OK, could somebody just tell me, now this may be stupid question, but is it cheaper to buy a 1Gb MBP and then buy and add you own 1Gb of RAM to make 2Gb's or just buy the 2Gb's form Apple?

Also if the first option is better, then can somebody tell me, what RAM is best to use, and also can you use two different brands, eg Apple and Crucial for example.

Cheers

Always cheaper to get your own modules, you can get some good deals from Datamem

So can you reccomend any particualr brands and whether you can use various different brands of RAM, or just get all the same?

You can just use any brand these days, since it is all using a standard memory controller nowadays, unlike back in the day.

I recommend Hynix or Crucial if you can get your hands on them, especially Hynix. That's the brand Apple uses themselves.

OK thanks guys, I'll buy the "X512Mb MBP, then just buy 2 X 1Gb sticks form the US, it sooo much cheaper than here in the UK. I presume it'll all still work right....

Cheers people
