I want to upgrade my 2gb to 4gb of ram how much would that cost, can you do it through apple? if so how much?

Also i dont know how it works, how do you put more ram in a macbook air? thanks

It cannot be done as the RAM comes soldered to the machine. The only way to upgrade is to purchase the Air from Apple with the extra RAM.

That's not to say it couldn't be done if you're a real do-it-yourself kind of guy, though. I wouldn't do it.

Unless you were a pro with soldering, forget it. Even then, highly unadvisable.

No problem upgrading ram

It's no problem to upgrade the ram (or disk space) on the mba. The cost for 4GB upgrade on the 11 inch is $1099 (minus whatever you get from your old mba on ebay):D

I have been buying all my RAM chips from http://www.crucial.com since 2001. The prices are amazing and you can find the chip you need easily. But, for the MBA the upgrade can only be done at the store. You cannot upgrade after purchase.
