BOSTON!!!
I really want the Prada LG phone OR the iPhone, but i can barely afford cheese on my hambuger.

Does any one know how I can get my hands on either for a price that seems illegal but really isn't?

I lucked out before and got a Blackberry Pearl for free from wirefly.com so I know deals are out there...

No way, you won't find a deal on the iPhone for a LONG time.....

He eats cheese with Diamonds in it so that might explain a lot.

No you will not be able to get an iPhone through one of the gimicie sites at a reduced price.

My friend actually got a free iPod from one of those referral sites so maybe one of them will be legit with the iPhone as well

Referral sites.

Yeah, some of the "free iPod if you complete these 5 offers, and convince 5 of your friends to complete 5 offer, too!" sites are legitimate. Expect to see some hawking the iPhone similarly. Completing those makes you feel 'icky' though. (I tried, and only got 4 'referrals' to complete their offers, so I didn't get my iPod; and I got about five times as much junk mail as normal for the next year, even when asking to be removed from all mailing lists..)

Yeah, seems like it's not even worth it after all the work... especially considering the pain-in-the-ass factor.

Yeah I tried that too. I got 3 people to sign up, and then I jjust gave up ... but there's a new one by the same company, and YOU complete all the offers, which is pretty cool. I'm getting a MacBook. I have to complete 12 "offers" in 90 days ... so far I've done 6 offers, with 3 more pending.

It's not free, but it is less expensive than a real MacBook. You just have to make sure to save all the terms and conditions, and cancel the offers on-time.

I'm sure they'll have the iPhone on there sometime. it's called "shop free pay"... just google it.

Get a job at a Cingular store. Not only will you make some money so you can buy an iPhone but you will also (in all likelyhood) get a fairly decent discount on it. My buddy works at a cell phone shop and he has a new phone like every 6 months and I don't think he has ever payed anywhere near full price.

In the amount of time you could do one of these "deals" or some other weird scheme that might end up causing you way more heart ache than it is worth, you could go out and get a job (another job if you already have one) and work for two or three weeks flipping burgers and buy yourself one.

I just recently purchased the blackberry 8800 from a friend of mine that works for cingular-he got me the phone for 199.99 no contract nothing
they retail for 499.99 this should hold me out till the iphone comes out.

I am hoping i can get a good deal for the iphone-

Your broke, and buy a 200USD phone, as a hold over until the iPhone comes?
A hold over for 2 months? You should have bought a old 20USD phone from ebay if it really was a "hold over"

Either your living in a fantasy world, where your love of Apple will land you an iPhone for free, or what you consider broke, and I consider, are very very different.

It doesn't take a lot of time. How would you know? Have you tried? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Sure, the deals can give you some heartache. Only if you're lazy and don't take 2 minutes to read the terms and conditions.

I'm enroled fulltime in college, working 10 hours a week, freelancing web design and planning a wedding. And I still find time to fill out a simple form once in a while.

Don't pretend like 1) you know me, or 2) you know what you're talking about. Geez, man, it's not like I'm making you do the stupid deal. What's with the attack?

Why don't you jump down my throat....

I was not even talking to you. I was talking in general about the scams that are out there, but since you want to take it personal and get offended you can do that. I never claimed to know you or your situation but don't pretend like you know my situation either.

I was trying to point out that these "deals" can truly be a problem and cause people a lot of money and heartache if they get caught up in the wrong one. Some are true scams that can cause serious problems. There is a lot of time spent researching these things and filling out all of the forms you have to fill out. The enrollment process is tedious and difficult. They give you 90 days for a reason.

FYI: I am a full time architecture student, I work 35-45 hours a week at an architecture firm, I'm married (have to find time to spend time with my wife), I have to do all of our yard work and take care of our new house. So, don't try and keep up. Even though I'm sure your freelance obligations and wedding planning can be quite difficult.
