price to upgrade 2008 mac pro processors?

Currently got dual 2.8 quads and wanted to ask what the cost would be to increase the chips? or would it even be worth it?

IIRC, the difference in performance between the 2.8GHz and the 3.2GHz CPUs only gave around 10% difference in performance. With the cost and hassle of attempting an upgrade would not be worth it.

You would be much better served by upgrading your memory, GPU or replacing your system drive with an SSD.

Which upgrades are needed (if any) depends on your circumstances and the current configuration of your system. Adding an SSD would likely give you the most bang for the buck over any CPU upgrade in your system.

ZDnet doesn't work in Snow Leopard.

Apple 'fixed' the overclocking bug that ZDnet used to speed up 2008 Mac Pros unfortunately, it only works in Leopard 10.5.x.

ZD net is working on my 2008 running cinema 4d 64bit ? -I keep my Mac os upto date as well.

I don't think it is worth you doing and suggest you follow cosmos' advice, but with some good eBaying you can do it for around $100-$150 for 3GHz and $300-$400 for 3.2GHz.
