When do you think prices for CS2 will drop so i can maybe upgrade from CS1. I specficily need after effects 7.0, photoshop and illustrator the rest would just be for fun. I don't need to have the lastest and greatest so i can seatle for CS2. Any ideas.

I'm assuming that they will be "phased out" once CS3 hits the shelves, so you're looking at May sometime. That being said, which machine are you planning on running AfterEffects 7 on? The PB or the iMac. The reason I'm asking is that you might be disappointed with the performance on either of those- the iMac will be running it all through Rosetta, and PB... well it's getting up there in age. I don't mean to be critical, just something I noticed.

At my school, CS2 has already dropped significantly in price. As students, we can buy the entire CS2 suite for $149.

If that is CS 2.3 Premium than you should snag it and get the free Design Premium upgrade for the cost of shipping from Adobe. CS 2 Standard probably has a free upgrade associated with it so check and see. In regards to the original question it may drop from individual sellers. Retailers might drop prices if they have some left but I would not count on it.
