I think Im gonna eventually get the Intel iMac and there is an Apple store somewhat nearby. Is there any differeneces in the prices in the stores than the Apple stores prices online or are they basically the same. For those that buy at stores do you actually get the product right then and there or do they ship it to you?

Thanks

If you buy in the shop you should get the item then and there. The prices should be about the same, maybe with minimal discounts at the store. :)

The store prices and online prices for Apple are the same. For things under $50 you want to go to the store. You won't get free shipping on them.

Yes, they are the same. And if you want the education discount, you can get it in the store with a student ID on hardware. But for some odd reason you have to go online to get the education discount on software.

what if I'm going to be a student in the fall and dont yet have an ID? How will I verify that?

You'll need to bring the letter of acceptance from the college you will be attending in the fall.
