Let the guesses begin. Poll options will be in total price. Let's assume the band is constant. I'm just going to round the base price of 350 up to 400 to make things easier. So 400 for the base level watch.

If it's actually 18k gold and not plated, it could go for way higher especially if Apple wanted to make them as exclusive as possible (judging from the fancy chargeable case they come in).

It won't hurt sales as they still have the $350 model.

If it's special edition and 18 karat gold, it'll probably cost a lot as Apple wants it to compete in the luxury market.

Solid gold watches of that size from just about any manufacturer are several thousands of dollars. If this Apple watch is solid gold, then I see no reason why it wouldn't be the same. If solid gold, I'd say $3K easy, maybe even $5K. $5K is still a moderate price in the world or Swiss wristwatches, so there are plenty of people to spend it.

I can't imagine Apple selling a $3000 Watch, if only for the liability costs of repairs and replacements. An iPhone costs Apple <$200 in parts, so every refurb they keep on stock to give you when yours breaks is worth $200.

A solid gold Watch may have $100 in electronic components, but the cost of the gold would be $$$. That is a lot of money to keep in refurb inventory.

You can't go into a Rolex dealer with a broken $10000 watch and just swap it for a new one. Therefore, I think the Apple Watch will be gold plated and no more than $999, if it is even that high. Remember, a mechanical Rolex will live and can be repaired forever. Once an Apple Watch's electronics go, it is junk. It is doubtful that people will pay so much for something with a limited lifespan.

Apple sells $3000 computers the size of wastepaper baskets, why not watches? I don't think that the company with over a hundred billion in cash is worried about a few million dollars sitting around in inventory.

There will probably be a trade-in program. In any case, the type of person who would buy this watch can probably dig out $3k from under their couch cushions.

The melt scrap value of the 18K gold case would probably be close to $500. So Apple is going to offer the cheapest 18K solid gold watch in the world at just about scrap price???? Just doesn't sound like Apple (or any one else).

I predict $4,999 for the gold Apple Edition.

That would not be surprising at all.
Really anything between 2000-5000 is not totally surprising.
Anything above 5000 it would be a difficult proposition except for bragging rights.
