So this is how my Apple ID addresses look like at the moment:
Apple%20ID.png

What I would like to do is to make @me.com my primary Apple ID address and move @gmail.com down to my alternate Apple ID addresses. Basically, just reverse the two so that I would get all my store receipts etc. to my @me.com address.

FWIW, I can use both my @gmail.com and @me.com address for logging into iCloud/iMessage/FaceTime/iTunes store/Mac App Store/Game Center as it is. Obviously, they are both linked to the same Apple ID and content.
Although I find it a bit odd that iCloud/iMessage/FaceTime show @me.com as my Apple ID, whereas iTunes store/Mac App Store/Game Center show @gmail.com as my Apple ID (regardless if I use @me.com or @gmail.com to log in).

So, has anyone been able to make their @me.com primary and @gmail/hotmail/etc. their alternate, i.e. reverse them? I guess I could delete @me.com from my alternate addresses and then type it into my primary address, but I fear that that could screw something up.

Thanks!

I have the same query. Why the hell gmail is everywhere as my main apple Id and not me mail ;

Apple's ID management leaves a lot to be desired. There's essentially no way to change the main ID to anything else. Granted, Google/Android is not any better, but I expect more out of Apple.

I have the same setup, Apple ID is a Gmail address and my alternate is my icloud address (which I use for all my email, don't use the Gmail address any more).

It's not a perfect solution but what I did was simply set up forwarding on my Gmail account to forward all mail to my iCloud address. At least that way all my store receipts etc. end up in my iCloud inbox.
