According ot Apple's App Store, AZ's Prime Video app for Macs is supposed to display landscaped, corresponding to standard monitor layout:

But on my 2019 iMac (Monterey 12.4), it instead displays in portrait (like it's meant for an iPhone):

I tried adjusting this in settings, but couldn't find a mobile/desktop or portrait/landscape option. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix?

Although I don't use Prime Video at the moment, I downloaded it on my MBA (so a 13.3" screen) and I can drag it wider to about 2/3 of the screen. The green button in the upper left is not available to go full screen. Very odd I'd say. I noticed there are some App Store reviews mentioning the same issue, even from last year. Even weirder, the app doesn't show in the Applications folder.

Is there a reason to use this app instead of going to the webpage? I'm just curious because I have Prime. I use the app on my iPhone and iPad but just go to the webpage on Firefox when on my Mac.

Not really. I just thought the app might give a better interface, so thought I'd try playing with it.

Interestingly, I get different video quality depending on what I use. I tested it with The Hobbit. With Microsoft Edge, I get this:

With the app, I don't get that message (it's in HD), but it's too dark.

With Safari, it's in HD, and it's bright enough to watch. So I guess I'll just stick with Safari for now.

Yeah, what I showed is the maximum width I can get on my iMac. It does show in my App folder, but note that it's listed as "Prime Video" rather than "Amazon Prime Video."

Oh yep, you're right. Weird though. It only shows in the list view of the Applications folder in my dock, but not in the actual Applications folder. Also turns up using spotlight search but when clicking on Show Enclosing Folder, which goes to Applications, it's not there. Weird, weird.

Sorry, what do you mean by "actual Applications folder"? I consider Finder's view of the Applications folder to be actual Application folder, and I see it there:

Also, for me, there is no enclosing folder--I do see that for some apps, but not this one; maybe it installed differently on your machine:

By Enclosing Folder, I mean the option if you right click on your search result. The next higher level in the hierarchy is Macintosh HD. Where the app didn't appear was in the Applications folder shortcut in the dock. It's a small matter though because I only installed it to test for your question and may not be reproducible.

Ah, I see. Yeah, when I click on Show in Enclosing Folder, I see it in Applications. And it's also in the Dock's Applications folder, it's just hard to spot. Maybe it didn't install correctly on your machine.

Thanks for taking the trouble to install it just to answer my question, though!
