Folks, could someone do me a favor and test Prime95 on their 5,1 X5690 in Windows 10 for me?
I'm finding that the latest Prime95 version 28.9 crashes after an indeterminate amount of time yet the older version 28.5 runs forever.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Previously, using v28.9 on a cMP, I separately tested two hexcore CPUs and two sets of RAM and they would all error (or less often, the program would crash) at stock speeds.

Either I am very unlucky with hardware or the program itself is not reliable. That's the only version I ran.

I can now confirm that unlike v28.9, v28.5 runs fine for many hours on my 5,1 with W3690 & 24GB :)

These "Westmere" CPUs are what, 5 Intel generations behind the times? Maybe the Prime95 developer is not keeping them in mind when making changes and has inadvertently introduced an incompatibility.
