Are these any good? I have a home office and am looking to free up some space.

I rarely use my scanner for anything other then b&w docs.

Any advice or brand/model recommendations is appreciated.

Thanks.

I've had quite a few but I swear by the Canon series.

My favorite: the Canon Pixma series including fax, photocopy, color inkjet photo printer, ADF (automatic document feeder) and scanner as well as print to DVD slot and memory stick slot and finally.... LCD screen so that all functions are available without a computer if desired.

My current Canon Pixma MP780 is still running like new.

Some things to consider are drivers can be an issue with some printers, the HP drivers vary from non existant Mac support to flakey. Canon has as far as I know, a full set of drivers for every model of Canon printer. Epson has good drivers but not for every model.

HP ink is more expensive than Canon and Epson, Canon seems to last the longest.

Overall, a lot of these printers have Canon engines with varying logic boards, but most of the time the Canon printers win out for photo quality as well as day to day b&w prints.
