I've had my iMac since June and I love it, but I have a few issues. This is my first Mac. I was a PC advocate until about a year ago. I've never used Parallels and I'm not really sure how it works. I think I need it though.
I used PaintShop Pro on my PC and I miss it. I use PhotoShop on the iMac and though I've had formal training in it, I've never liked the UI. I can run PSP on Parallels, right?
My company offers a single use home use Microsoft Office deal, and I mean DEAL. They currently have Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus for Windows and Office 2008 for Mac. They are both $9.95 (full license for home use, it's pretty flipping sweet). I can only get one though and we have 2 PCs and the Mac, but I am the one that would be using it, and I use the hell out of Access. Obviously the Win version is a much better deal. It has all 9 of the Office Suite programs. I can download this through Parallels, right?
Those two previous questions I think I know... but this one.... My printer.. It's not compatible with my Mac, there are no drivers for it. I've googled and I have searched this forum but I can't seem to find any information on if I can use my printer through the Parallels Windows. This would be so helpful. I guess this attests to my limited knowledge of how drivers actually work. Do any of y'all know? My husband recently got a Sony Vaio and we didn't check it's compatibility with our printer until after I sold my Dell. Turns out it's not compatible with the 64 bit Windows 7 he's running. I would probably install XP.
Printer is a Dell 926 All-in-one
I do have to install the Windows OS as a part of the Parallels thing, right? I am really not sure at all about it. I'm just tired of having to use my tiny Aspire One to print.
