I have a Canon Pixma iP4300

I have been doing cleaning, and other test to increase accuracy but my printer is really off in color.

Blood red/dark red come outs as salmon
Green comes out like Lime green.
Light Green as yellow
Brown hmm orange brown
Dark Brown is brown (still orange showing)
all my grays are coming out way off
Basically all grays print out as a muted primary color
So Blue Gray comes out either brown or pastels.

The only thing I can think this may be a cause is I do have third party ink cartridge but this is my third set on ink cartridge and this is first time I got horrible color accuracy.

Thank you

If that model has separate cartridges for each colour, it sounds like all the problems are with the cyan, from that.

I must say, the only real problems I've ever had with colour printers have been from third party ink cartridges and I've come to consider them a completely false economy. You might want to try branded cartridges and see if that sorts it out.

Cheers

Thank you for your feedback, I will get name brand once this set runs out since its my last no namer batch.

Printer accuracy

Yep, good advice. I too would never use third party inks - the major manufacturers spend millions on ink R&D and print head performance, and it's often said that 90 percent of a printer's performance lies in the ink/head combo.
Don't forget to look at your colour management workflow also, this can have quite dramatic effects if you get it wrong.

Yeah, definitely don't use third-party ink cartridges. Consumer Reports tests name brand and off brand cartridges every year, along with all the papers on the market, and they come to the same conclusions every year. You get more prints, better accuracy, less fading, and you spend MUCH less when you use ink cartridges and papers made by your printer manufacturer. As soon as you use third party paper OR ink, you instantly begin losing money, color accuracy and fade resistance.
