Updated to el capitan and now cannot print to my Canon iP6700D. After researching on Canon it seems that there are no updates available for this printer using this version of OS X. Is there any way around the issue so I can print from my MacBook Air? I do get an error message and code. I know the printer can still work with an SD Card but would also like to be able to print from the computer. Previously I was using Lion 10.75 and had not updated until El Capitan and never thought to think the printer would not be compatible. Would I have to go back until the last updateable print drivers and use that version of OS X? Do I just bite the bullet and purchase a new printer....Would it be worth it...not sure. Any suggestions on this post would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried this:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1742?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Your printer is not specifically listed, other Canon iP series printers and iX6700 printer is. If you haven't tried it, it's worth a shot.

Yes I did try this Lou but it still will not work. I tried installing from GutenPrint--guten 5.2.11 pre 2.dmg and it went through the installer but it still is not printing. I must need to do something else..any ideas. Thank you.
