Hi, excuse if posted in the wrong forum.

I have an intel iMac with a Canon ip4000 printer. I use Airport for wireless connection to my router for the Internet. I also have a Sony Vaio connected to the wireless network for Internet. I can share my mac files with my PC, not a problem but i just can't seem to get my Vaio to use the printer.

The printer works fine on the mac (connected via USB). I can see the printer on my network on the Vaio, but when i press print, the printer does nothing.
Any help would be great.

Printer sharing is turned on on the mac.

Cheers

Get Bonjour

You can download Bonjour here.

Run Bonjour, and it should find the printer on your network, and add it to your printers list. I also had to right-click on the printer in the control panel, and change the drivers to "Apple Color II" or something like that (I'm not home right now... sorry), otherwise it wouldn't work.

Got Bonjour

Changing the driver is the key. I don't have apple color II driver so used Apple Color LW 12/660 PS which seems to work fine.

Thanks for you help, it did the trick.

Cheers
