i have a brother printer and 2 epson all in ones that seem to keep going offline. I read about assigning static ip address.
The brother is fine now it seems after manually assigning IP with asus router which has a setting to let me bind the ip address.
The epson when i go to my iMac add a printer it shows the printer name as epson@myimac
it used to just be epson 3520 series and would find the drivers.

It is really driving me nuts. Should my iMac have static ip address also?
Do i have to restart and re- add the epson printers and then bind the static ip in the router?

My advice would be: Set a static IP for all 3 printers. Then delete and reinstall them on your iMac.

Finally, are they wireless or wired? I see issues all the time from wireless Brother printers, but they work great wired in to the network.

Seeing a printer name with "@ iMac" on the end would indicate a printer shared by another Mac rather than a network printer.

Going to give that a try tonight.
