Apple does not support the Canon mp 390 printer.
How can I make the mp 390 still working properly with my new iMac?

If Canon has the correct drivers then you should be fine. I wasn't sure when I first got my iMac if my scanner or Canon printer would work but I just installed the drivers from Canon and use some of their software just fine.
When you ask about working what do you mean by it? Borderless photo printing or just plain text?, using iPhoto or other programs with the printer as well?

Canon for some reason doesn't provide Mac drivers for this device. But Printfab has a driver for your printer, see http://www.printfab.net. The catch is that it will cost you about $61. But their drivers are outstanding - I've used them for cross-platform printing from a Mac to a Windows machine.

I think that is really crappy that Canon doesn't have any Mac drivers for some of their printers and scanners as well. I looked up a few others and the same applies, no drivers  Glad there are a few other companies that sell drivers for some units even if they are pricey.

Just read your comment and made the first prints after having gone through the process.
Seems to work so I only have to pay $61 rather then buying as new printer
thanks for that!!!!!!!
