Hello.

I wanted to print 2 copies of the same page scaled down on to one side of A4.
Easy!

Except I can't seem to do it?!??!!!:oops:
Im sure I have done this many times before, yet I seem to be failing. I have jumped up a few OS versions in the last year getting a M1 Mini, but until now its been pretty plain sailing.

Is it me? None of the other settings seem to be it.

Thanks for any help received.

I don't recall ever seeing the ability to print multiple copies per sheet using a Print dialog. As far as I know, the "Pages per Sheet" layout options has always applied to pages of the actual document, i.e. document pagination within the file's app, as distinct from the number of copies printed.

If it's absolutely necessary to put multiple copies of what appears to be a single-page document onto a single printed sheet of paper, you'll probably need to resort to some kind of work-around.

I'd probably do it by printing the document to PDF as 1 page per sheet, then duplicating the resulting PDF file in Finder, then opening both copies in Preview.app. From there, you can combine the two documents into a single PDF document of 2 pages, and that can then be used to print at 2 pages per sheet.

To combine PDFs in Preview:

I agree, I don't think this was ever possible. Another option would be to print on one half of the sheet, and then reload the paper into the printer such that it will print on the other half of the sheet.

I think it depends on the app you are using. Preview has been doing it for many years. If it is a TEXT doc go to Print just like in your image, then look at the bottom of the print dialog and where it says PDF Click and select Open in Preview. Then you can do what you want from Preview.

There are options to print multiple (different) pages on a single sheet at reduced size, but not the same page repeatedly.

Easy workaround: make a document with the same identical page repeated as many times as you need, then print using the settings you have above.

edit: I see someone above posted the same solution. Whoops

Thanks for the suggestions.

I guess I must have used Pre-view to combine the pages in the past. I'll keep it in mind for next time.
