Printing on imac

Hello everyone i have a quick question. I have an imac and a mbp with the free hp printer. When ever i print pictures from the imac they come out perfect but when i try to print emails from the imac or any kind of text, nothing comes out. The printer skips the entire page and just prints the bottom of the page. Im not sure if i posted in the right part of the forum but in need an answer asap. Did i set up something wrong?

I'm using an HP DeskJet 5100 do problem.
(I also have a Brother HL-2170W working)

Have you tried to print from Pages? A PDF?
In Preferences->Print&Fax are the dots next to "Idle" showing Green?

Have you tried Right Clicking on the printer and "Reset Printing System..."?

Hello.. Whennever i print pictures from the imac they come out perfect but when i try to print emails, pdf file from the imac or any kind of text, nothing comes out. its all blank paper...I am using Imac with OSX 10.5 pls help me with this...Thank You!

Hmm. This sounds like a a setting isn't set right on the imac. Have you tried opening up text editor writing some gibberish then printing it to see if it works?
