Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a unique printing need that I’ve struggled to manage directly from my iPad. The default printing settings on iPad don’t seem to support the following combination of requirements:

- Printing at A5 paper size

- Double-sided printing

- Scaling page to 100%

On my Mac, this is straightforward to set up and works perfectly. However, I’d like to achieve the same directly from my iPad using AirPrint.

Does anyone know of an app, workflow, or other solution that would allow me to customise these settings? I’d really appreciate any recommendations for third-party apps or tips to work around this limitation.

Thanks in advance!

there is often an app by the printer manufacturer which can be used to print on iOS/iPadOS. What printer do you have?

I have a HP printer and have downloaded the HP Smart app on my iPad. However, I’ve noticed a frustrating limitation: the iPad app only supports A4 and Letter paper sizes.

This is particularly baffling since the HP Smart app on Mac offers a wider range of paper size options, including A5. It’s disappointing that the same flexibility isn’t available on the iPad version of the app.

Suggest you contact HP support. I had a WiFi issue a year ago, so I went to the HP website, created a login, and messaged them. They may have a resolution for you. I use an HP225dw. I use HP Smart on iPad and Mac. Hope this gets resolved for you.
