With Beta 2 I started getting a Network isn’t compatible error message. Searched and wasn‘t able to find anything further on this so I thought I would ask. I’m running an Eros 6 Pro config and I’m not sure what is making that incompatible or what to check for. Happening with iOS and iPadOS.

Thanks!

It’s just a Pop up, so I’m assuming they OS is letting me know.

It pops up because that app doesn't allow it, I'm not sure why you are blurring it out. It could be a few reasons from apps not supporting it due to iOS Beta or it can be important apps like banking that may use geolocation along with stored IP address to make sure no fraud or unauthorized persons are gaining entry into your account.

I’m blurring out my home network name. Why, I don’t know. LOL. Again, no app was opened when I got the pop up.

Based on the screenshots that I've seen and scenarios that I've read about where people are receiving this: it appears to affect networks, not apps. People are seeing things like "T-Mobile isn't compatible with iCloud Private Relay."

I don't believe this is an app-based popup. The screenshot also notes that the OP needs to turn off iCloud Private Relay "to access the internet on this network," and not "this app"

Most on Reddit are speculating that it's a bug. Perhaps a generic popup when the iCloud Private Relay connection couldn't be made for some reason like port blocking (or in the case of the betas- the services being unavailable)

I’m also working with eero directly… they asked for some info. It could very well be their security features. I agree it’s not an app. Seems like something Private Relay doesn‘t like about my network. Some other on Reddit have also run into this.

Thanks!

I have the same popup on an Eero network...has nothing to do with an app. It says "WIFI NAME isnt compatible with iCloud Private relay"

Because it’s not app specific and iOS won’t throw that error on an app level it’s just a Wifi name and isn’t important. Also iCloud private relay wouldn’t be incompatible with a bank app, it works fine using VPN’s the only time you’d encounter issues is using a proxy trying to sniff https traffic.

All of the documents I've found related to this issue are really vague. *What* setting is off, *what* is required?

It's gotten to the point where people are almost urging human sacrifice, or at least the hack for old Nintendo games: (I refuse to stand on one leg holding my AP and drinking warm tea)

'Turn PR off, turn it back on.' 'Turn PR off, turn MIMO off, and back on, turn on PR.' 'Turn PR off, turn MM off, turn on PR, turn MM on.'

What is the secret sauce that PR might be looking for? It worked fine on the old Airport Extreme I have, and *BOOM* now I get that message of gloom and doom. Come on Apple, what is going on?
