Is the MBP same in the visual clarity and smoothness as the iPad Pro 2020 edition and the latest and greatest iPhone?

I’ve read reviews and other comments saying something about the MBP PM not being as smooth or noticeable compared to their phones and I’m just wondering why? I could very much notice it on the iPad.

Overall I love the iPad pro and iPhone PM. I need a new laptop and the MacBook Air is sufficient for my needs, but the PM keeps pushing me back to overkill laptop MBP.

Thoughts? Same same, noticeable or naahh?

Thanks!

It’s all about OLED vs LCD (miniLED). ProMotion on iPads and MacBooks will never be as good given the response times of the panels Apple uses. The miniLED display panels are 2-3x slower in response time compared to their non-miniLED counterparts. The iPhone OLED panels are near instant so ProMotion is much more noticeable than the rest of ProMotion devices with LCD (miniLED) panels.

I barely notice ProMotion on the MacBooks. Contrast ratio is really obvious, but not the 120hz.

In terms of Visual clarity and Motion the MacBook Pro is a toss up like Streaking or Blurry Text when scrolling is a problem. Especially the well known UFO Test. or just go to BestBuy.com and watch the Yellow or White Text Blur badly on the BestBuy Blue color background. Its bad.

Vs. my 240hz OLED Gaming laptop yes 2x faster than 120hz Promotion. Blur is non-existent.

Are the MacBooks worse or better than iPads when it comes to blur?
