now that ea has become mac friendly, do u think we will see the orange box? (ea did the port for ps3). i hope so :)

maybe something announced at macworld?

Um, Valve do all the PC ports. Why would they lose money to EA when they just need to port the games and Steam themselves?

Besides, EA did a poor job porting the game. Apparently it runs very badly.

Valve will be doing this, but they've been putting it off for years. They want $1million from Apple or something ridiculous like that.

Yep, it's not gonna happen. It's up to Valve, not EA, and Valve doesn't like Macs. Even if EA by some one-in-a-trillion cosmic fluke somehow ended up with the Mac publishing rights, they'd just do another of their lousy Cider "ports".

A while back there was a rumor floating around that Valve wanted apple to pay them up front cash to port any of their games to the apple platform.

EA hasn't been serious about creating good ports for their games either.
Cider works as a technology -- but they for some reason thought the technology was in, and it was in fact, still needing to be worked on, thats why they delayed and released products that don't work.

Aspyr probably has the best record for porting games, but even some of theirs don't run as well as they should... meh.
