So I just my spankin' new iPhone and it is a great day. However, I can't grasp getting music on this thing for some reason. The only way (it seems) I can get music on it is by syncing it up with a playlist/my library, which is annoying to me.

Is this the only way, or is my iPhone being a jerk?

At the moment there is no way that I know of to manually manage music on the iPhone. Instead, you need to make a dedicated playlist and manually drag songs into that, then sync.
