I've looked all over but can't seem to find the answer to this question

What happens when you redownload an application you already pay for in order to get the updated version?

For Example,

Buy game
1 week later there is an update
update process doesn't update the game
click to download app again to get update

would i get charged again for the game?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered. Thanks

You shouldn't be charged for an update.

If you are I would go into your iTunes account, find the receipt showing that you have already paid for the game and then contact the iTunes store support. Explain your issue and have them look up your receipt in their system.

You can actually redownload apps as many times as necessary and not be charged for it, but you won't actually redownload the app to update it per se, the App store should notify you there's an update and it will download that update and install it for you. Basically, the answer to your question is no, you won't be charged again.

thanks guys for the responses, i was just curious, since the update feature doesn't seem to be working right now, i updated a few apps but the version number has stayed at 1.0, i was going to try to redownload the whole app but i wanted to make sure i wouldn't get charged again for it.
