First of all – apologies for a question that probably is well covered. I tried searches on the internet and on this forum, but couldn’t find much about what I need.

Ok: My father’s antique PC kicked the bucket, and he never backed it up. His iTunes library was on there, and now it’s thoroughly gone for eternity.

But of course, all that music is still there, on his iPhone and on his iPad. Naturally he’d like it to be on his newly bought iMac as well, so that he can keep importing music from iTunes without having to wipe out everything from his portable units and rebuild the content. Much of that music can’t be found on cd or downloads anywhere.

So the probably age old question is being posed once again: can he export the music he has on his iPhone over to his new Mac? All units are logged on to his Apple ID.

Thanks, guys.

Thanks. I realise that my original question warrants a “can’t be done” answer if one wants an Apple way to do it. I have good experiences with Imazing and will use it. Other suggestions for methods to move the music from an iPhone to a new Mac are welcome too, if anyone has input.
