Problem connecting to the net with MBP

Heya,

I've been having some problem recently with me brand new MBP 17" C2D. The problem is specificaly the wireless connection and ethernet connection.

The first problem is that the MBP has a hard time finding networks or getting a good signal (for example I am currently using a Macbook C2D with a connection that is 4 bars out of 5) However my MBP cannot even find it most of the time and when it does the connection drops within seconds.

My next problem is that the MBP used to discover wired networks automatically and now it won't find them at all.

This is my first Mac and untill now has been working perfectly I'm at my wits end and am considering to send it back for checking out with the tech staff. Any ideas?

I would definitely take it to an Apple Store and have them check it out while it's still under warranty.

My iMac G5 was showing some inconsistent wireless behavior. It would work without a glitch for a week or so, and then it would drop the connection, etc. I just figured it was par for the course, but then I started getting kernel panics. Turned out that my AirPort/Bluetooth card was bad, but I had to eat the cost because I didn't get it taken care of within the warranty period.

The troubles you described are not normal, and, imo, you should have your mbp looked at.

Yup this will be hardware issue. I can find 3 difrent networks while in my atic. my house is old with thick walls and it works fine. my router is on the ground floor and its perfect.

Make sure that your router has the latest firmware. I solved wireless issues with my XBox and Tivo by updating.
