iPod Problem converting from FLAC to ACC (.m4a)

Hey all,

I'm trying to use Max to convert some FLAC files into the "iTunes Plus" 256kbps (Apple ACC .m4a format).

The only output option I see available in Max though, is "ACC ADTS", so I tried that one, to save as .ACC files @256kbps.

The conversion works great, and I can play the new files in Quicktime, but they won't import into iTunes 8 (File > Add To Library)

Has anyone else had trouble doing this? Or do I need to rename the files to <filename>.m4a in order for iTunes to see them?

Any help would be appreciated!

You need to pick the first MPEG4 Audio option in the list of formats then AAC from there.

One quick followup question...

This new method does convert the songs exactly how they need to be, and they import into iTunes just fine, but...As the songs finish encoding, an error pops up:

An error occurred while tagging the file "<filename>". iTunes got an error: File permission error.

I went into terminal to see the difference between the files that I ripped from CD and the FLAC files...

Ripped from CD: -rw-r--r--@
FLAC files: -rw-r--r--

So what can I do to get rid of that error?

Has anyone else seen this error before? (Again, it's not a HUGE deal, just a minor inconvenience...)
