Hi guys,

So last night I JB my iPhone 3GS for the first time with Redsn0w. I'm on 3.0 firmware and 4.26.08. All went smoothly and exactly as per the online tutorials.

I wanted to upgrade my firmware to 3.1.2 since many apps now need 3.1, and I figured I'd just go all the way to ios4 and create a custom firmware with Pwnage Tool.

I downloaded the newest Pwnage Tool 4.01 and the 4.0.1 firmware file to use to create a new one - iPhone2,1_4.0.1_8A306_Restore.ipsw

Pwnage Tool seems to work and opens fine, but when it gives the option to browse for firmware, I go and select the firmware file above but it keeps coming back with a "wrong firmware bundle selected" error.

Am I doing something wrong??? Thanks for any help with this :)

PwnageTool has not been updated for iOS 4.0.1. Version 4.01 was designed to create custom 4.0 firmware files. Use the 4.0 firmware and you will be fine.

Thank you sir - much appreciated. Makes total sense now.

I try and pride myself on doing my own research and figuring things out. Feel kinda silly I missed this.

Cheers,
