hi everyone,
this is what happened,

after i installed patch for windows XP, i found that it's quite difficult for me everytime i go to windows (via bootcamp). it's like i succesfully go to windows after rebooting for like 4 times.

the patch that i installed are:
1.ms08-067
2.ms08-068
3.ms09-001
I need those patches cos i read that it's very important due to conficker virus outbreak latelly

so is there anyone had the same problem with me?should i re install windowsXP without those patches?

thnx before

What kind of problems are you having with the XP startup that need a reboot to get past and which service pack are you using?

I wouldn't recommend running any Windows OS without all available patches applied.

the problem is everytime i try to go to windows, by the time i get into the blue "welcome" wallpaper, it always re start. after trying like 3-4 time with XP start up, than i can get past to windows.

i use windows XP home SP2, and all patches that i installed are for windows XP SP2.

That's kind of trick to troubleshoot - you would need to check the system event log for errors which would indicate the cause of the reboot. You could try to apply XP SP3 which will replace most of the Windows system files.

I suggest you start XP in safe mode, run system restore to set the machine back to before the updates were installed; then set a new restore point and DL and install SP3. Personally, I HATE updating windows with each little hotfix because, half the time, it breaks something else.:mad::mad:
