Many people post here only when they have problems - that is what these forums are for - to help people ..... and I know there are many folks out there who have had problems with El Capitan 10.11.4 and 10.11.5 - and I am sorry for their grief .... but I have to say that after downloading the combo 10.11.5 update and installing it on my 27" Retina 5K, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 2014 iMac, I have had no problems whatsoever. Photoshop CS5.1 works perfectly as does Dreamweaver CS6 and CS3 ( I refuse to buy into the monthly rental scheme from Adobe) and Safari has not frozen once and all my other apps are working as normal .....!
So this post is a success story, and I hope it gives other people the courage to upgrade .....make sure you backup via Time Machine first of course ....!

I also want to share that has been my experience too. I was very reluctant to upgrade hearing all the issues, so I waited and waited. Couple of days now and I have not had a problem so far. Lr, PS and On1 everything works. Lr is a little slow on start up but it was on Yosemite.

Assuming you've been using Photoshop for years now, take a look at Affinity Photo in the App Store. I've read a lot of reviews from peeps who are unhappy with Adobe as well and are quite happy with Affinity. Granted it's still a new app, however a lot of peeps are switching from Photoshop to Affinity. Might be something worth checking out....

I love the OS X version and its really beautiful looking, but.... I'm not happy with what they've done to disk utility.. Its a damn shame that you have to use terminal now to make a bootable disc of an operating system. I never like to just go a head like most users and install an operating system over another without doing a clean install. I've always made a bootable disc of the OS (since apple doesn't offer disc's anymore of their OS), formatted my HD and did a clean install so there is no problems.. The other thing about disc utility I don't like is how you can't 0 out a drive anymore of its data. I have an ssd internal and although El Capitan did a good job formatting it, I still like to do a 0 out of the information. I really hope that apple redoes disk utility..
