Problem hooking up Samsung 941BW to my Macbook Pro..

I thought this was going to be simple plug and play..

I've connected the DVI from the monitor to the computer and NOTHING!

But the VGA hook up works fine with the DVI/VGA adaptor using the the Macbook pro... anyone have any ideas why??

Am I doing something wrong??

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciate it!

Go to system preferences> Displays > Detect displays.

try pressing f7 too.

I've tried that and nothing!

I guess I might have to take the montior back and get a different one.

Any recommendation outside of Apple product?

you should try on a tv set or another monitor you could borrow, maybe your DVI port is fried.

I'll take my computer to Best buy or something and give that a try. If its fried, I'm going to be pissed as I would hate to send the computer back! I've had to reformate because I couldn't dump the trash..

I've had so many issues with these intel macs... Maybe I use too much!

I had issues moving to my 20" WS StarLogic (Officemax El-Cheapo). It would work great in VGA under proper resolution, but when I swiched to DVI it was fragmented and everything was being stretched on screen. It turns out my monitor wasn't telling OS-X its proper capabilities and OS X wouldn't let me force resolution (which is one of the things I still kinda miss from my old PC). So I found this program called DisplayConfigX. It installed the information into my monitor so it would display properly. Still when I start up, I need to use my laptop screen and then plug it in after boot up or it does weird stuff, but for $149 for 20" widescreen, I can't complain. Samsung shouldn't have these problems for their pricetag however.

So I would say either return it or maybe give DisplayConfigX a shot at your own risk.
