Resolved Problem I need resolved. re: playback of 4k

I purchased a Sony xbr65x900a to view 4K material. Then I bought the fdr ax100 Sony camcorder to record 4K video. The camcorder plays the video back fine on the TV. However, when I edit it with Final Cut Pro X and then want to play the edited video on the TV the video appears jerky when there is any motion in it. I am playing it back with my MacBook Pro 15" laptop which has an HDMI out port. The MacBook Pro has these specifications:
2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage 1
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
with 2GB GDDR5 memory
I have adjusted the various motion flow settings on the TV. Nothing removes the jerky playback when there is dancing or significant movement in the video.
Has anyone been able to solve this problem? (That is, if you have a similar set up.)

Are you mirroring or extending, and the resolution set to "best for external display"?

This may have something to do with Macs not doing 4K at 60Hz....today it is only at 30Hz refresh rates. OS 10.9.3 will add support for 4K at 60Hz for the new Mac Pros and the latest generation of rMBPs (late 2013).

OS 10.9.3 is in beta and should be released at any time. I hope it is out before WWDC on June 2.

I chose the highest resolution on the monitors app. It is mirroring.
The videos are at 30p, not 60. The camera only works with 24 or 30 in 4K.

Yes. And no, it will not. I am extremely upset with Sony for making it impossible to play back edited video in a workable manner.

How do you do that? Get the beta of 10.9.3, I mean. As far as 4K at 60Hz, that is completely out. The video is shot at 30, the graphics card on the computer will only handle 4K at 24 or 30, and the HDMI port on the TV will only go to 30Hz.

Everything I remember says we need 4k at 60hz to have smooth performance. I will not be doing 4k until I swap out my 2012 rMBP late next year.

Use VLC. I have the same issue as the wrapper files on the ax100 are .mp4. After going pro red 422 they become .mov... I have tried several things and QuickTime refuses to work properly. Started using VLC player and I have had zero issues.

The video is edited with Final Cut Pro X. The resulting rendered files are .mov. I have tried the VLC player and the video is still choppy. As you know, there are various setting you can change in VLC, but no matter what settings I use, there is still choppiness, just the pattern changes.

You can get 10.9.3 beta at anytime. It works just fine for me. Note I am not trying any 4K support as I don't have the equipment for it.

Finally, my problem is solved. I downloaded the beta 10.9.3 today and it seems to have resolved the issue.
Once again, thank you so much for the suggestion.
The Apple customer service person had told me that it was rumored that the new version would address monitors and 4K issues. He didn't tell me that I could download it now.

In any case, the official 10.9.3 version was just released!!!!!!!!!

As far as I know to output 4K at 60Hz you need Thunderbolt 2, which unfortunately the rMBP 2012 does not have. Apart from that HDMI v1.4 (which is found only on the rMBP 2013 laptops) only reaches a max of 30Hz
