Recently purchased a Brother printer, MFC-L2700DW. No matter what I do, only the scanner has installed on my mac. Anyone had a similar problem? I've downloaded all current drivers from brother web site.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

How is it connected to your computer? By USB, by an ethernet connection to you router, or wirelessly?

Some folks may not be aware that both printer and scanner drivers for many devices are available from Apple.
As BrianBaughn asked, adding the printer would be a good step.
Then, you should get updates for the printer, through your App Store Updates tab.

You can also download the current Brother drivers (which should include all supported Brother printers and scanners) from Apple.
That printer (MFC-L2700DW) is included with that install.

You really need to tell us how it is connected. If you have a wireless home network and you want to connect to the printer wirelessly, you have to connect the printer to the network first before you try to install the Mac printer drivers.

See the Mac instructions about halfway down this page: http://support.brother.com/g/b/faqe...rod=mfcl2700dw_us_eu_as&faqid=faq00002794_040

or this video to setup the printer using the printer control panel:

Thanks so much for the replies. I've been out of pocket over the holidays and couldn't remember my macrumors password which is saved on my computer and not my iPhone...one of those weird computer suggested ones. Sigh...

To answer the first two questions:
1. I use wi-fi to connect everything.
2. Brothers shows up in Printers & Scanners; however, it shows up as a scanner only after repeated attempts to install both printer and scanner.
3. I have downloaded current Brother drivers.

I'll try the additional suggestions and see if anything works. Thanks again.
