Hi,
I bought online this lens :

"Tamron AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di-II LD SP ZL Aspherical (IF) Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras"

Surprise : it does nos fit on the mount of my Canon 50 D.

The vendor tells me "oh, it happen some time, you need to buy a 'converter ring'".

Problem, i don't see any "converter ring" online. Did anyone know about this problem ? Do you think the vendor shiped the wrong lens, or i miss a piece ?

Thanx

can you take a Picture of the Mount??

The vendor is a Dumbass... everything that is made for "Canon Digital SLR Cameras" is EF mount (or EF-S) and should fit 100% on your 50D so also everything that has Autofocus for Canon is EF , he probably shipped you the Nikon Version or some other mount, take a picture i'll tell you what it is :D

If you are too lazy for the Picture:

Thats how it should look like (canon)

I don't think Tamron builds for Sony/Sigma ?!

also you will not need any converter if its the right lens

one more thing: I could be that you are trying to put the lens on Red-dot on Red dot (there is a red dot on the camera mount) but you'll probably need to put red(Lens) to White(camera) since its a lens for crop sensors

That lens is available in two versions, the old one without VC (Vibration Correction) and the new one with VC.
The old one is made for Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony mounts, the new one just for Canon and Nikon.
