every time i download software or i have software on a disk and i try to open it, it says it needs an application to open it. i really need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Macs won't run Windows apps without some sort of emulator. What are these apps you're downloading? What are their file extensions (the letters after the dot)? :)

i tried to put a decrypter on the computer but it doesnt work. Do you's no wat 2 do?

i getcha now! does anyone no a website to download decyrpters for imacs???

frankblundt kindly linked to Stuffit Expander. It's a free decompressor and it works with most files. However, what exactly are these files? Maybe post a link to one of them or alternatively, list the file extensions (the last few letters after the period/full stop/decimal point). :)

I didn't know that. I don't own a mac i use xp its for one of my friends. When i tried to download stuffit, it came up all in jumbled words.

sometimes, for whatever reason, browsers will try and load the downloaded file as if it were a page, displaying it as text. If you right/control click on the link and choose "save target as" or save linked file or whatever, it should prompt for a save location and download it.

Stuffit still wont let you run Windows apps ( .exe files) on a mac tho, it's just an unzip/decompression app for files compressed/zipped with Stuffit (that end in .sit).

If you want apps to run on a Mac, you need to download Mac (OS X) versions of them (not available for some Windows apps)

ok, it finally downloaded but now it comes up that it requires that you type your password???
