Hi guys,

I am having problems with BootCamp, when trying to partition i get the attached error message.

I have repaired permission but it still refuses to partition. :(

I have delayed installing XP on this machine as there are a few problems with the current drivers and i was hopping for an updated version, but I have a trip abroad in a couple of days and i need XP installed.

It will probably take a day installing all the software I need so any help will be greatly appreciated as I do not have time to reformat.

Many thanks.

Hi again guys,

I have managed to repair the disk by inserting the install CD1 and restarting holding the option key.

I will try to install XP again and will report how i get on later.

All sorted now...

Just thought I would let so know as it might be useful if someone encounters the same problem.

Hi NsK,

You shouldn't need to re-format!

This is what I did:

Type: Disk Utility in spotlight, click on Disk Utility (it should come up as Top Hit), select your HD on the left, click verify disk and see if it reports any errors.

If it does and needs repairing, you'll need to start your Mac from your install CD. To do this, insert the CD in the drive, turn off your Mac, restart and immediately press the option key, then select the CD and press enter. When loaded, start disk utility from there, repair the drive and when done, restart normaly and eject the CD.

This did the trick for me.

Please note: I am by no means a Mac expert (I am a recent switcher) and would strongly advise backing up any important data before proceeding.

Let us know how you get on.

Good luck.
