Hi, i'm currently having problems restoring my iPhone 4S,
recently i had problems with battery so it was replaced with another one. It turns on properly on the battery but when i try to restore i get error 29. The battery was supposedly genuine but still can't restore with iTunes.

iPhone restore logs get this following message:

[20:22:40.0751] Depth:0 Error:AMRestorePerformRestoreModeRestoreWithError failed with error: 29
[20:22:40.0751] Depth:1 Error:The operation couldn't be concluded, (AMRestoreErrorDomain error 29 - Failed to handle message type StatusMsg)
[20:22:40.0751] Depth:2 Error:The operation couldn't be concluded. (AMRestoreErrorDomain error 29 - failed to update device firmware)
[20:22:40.0751] Depth:3 Error:The operation couldn't be concluded. (AMRestoreErrorDomain error 29 - ramrod firmware update failed)
[20:22:40.0751] Depth:4 Error:The operation couldn't be concluded. (RamrodErrorDomain error 1002 - update_gas_gauge: gasgauge_swupdate returned -4)

I would like to at least understand what exactly this problem could be, some forums reported that gasgauge_swupdate returned -1 were some resistors problems but i couldn't find not a single information about that one.

Thanks in advance.

If the battery wasn't replaced by Apple with an apple battery, that very likely could be the source of the problem. Maybe.
