so I asked in this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=9406967#post9406967

if I could restore my phone to normal after a jailbreak and from what I understood I could no problem. I went ahead and tried to do that, but after Itunes got through the first parts of the process and to the "restoring" I got a message that "this phone could not be restored" send info to Apple etc.

Now it's just sitting here with a black screen and an Apple logo. What should I try now? thanks

figured out it was because I had the previous release of Itunes installed, moving up to the latest allowed me to restore. But, now when I plug the Iphone in I get "cannot read the contents of the Iphone please see summary tab to restore"
I've already restored, is there something else I should be doing for it to be recognized? thanks
