Problem trying to play PC game through Parallels

I got this software in hopes that i would be able to play C&C 4 on my new imac 27 inch ive installed the game in the virtual machine and everything seems good until i get to the point where it says you must have direct x 9.0 installed what does this mean? ive read a tad on the internet about the program but its already supposed to be integrated into Windows 7. wish this game was just capable with mac, hate dealing with this windows crap

Why not use bootcamp for gaming?

go to Utilities >> Bootcamp Assistant.

Create a partition for your new windows drive, insert your disc and load it.

It offers better performance because the computer is only running windows instead of mac and windows at the same time.

You may need to follow these instructions to load windows 7

Parallels doesn't have direct access for GPU, it access it through OS X which does not support DirectX. That's what I've understood. For ANY gaming, ALWAYS use Boot Camp
