Problem with 1920 x 1200 monitor

I have a 24" monitor that is 1920 x 1200 resolution. In Vista, first I figured out I had to use the VGA adapter instead of DVI.

Now when I play games the max res I can select ingame is 1600 x 1200.

Also, when using the MacBook Pro display I get a max selectable res of 1152 x 864 or something...(its 256mb video)

Any idea as to why this is happening, cause barefeats has benchmarked games I am trying to use in 1920 x 1200, so why would they be able to select that res and not me?

sounds more like a graphics driver issue than any issue wiith the monitor/displays.

has anyone else got 1920 x 1200, or 1440 x 900 for that matter, working in Vista? Maybe its the dumb Vista drivers...
