Someone I know is having trouble with copying/transferring files from his PC to his iPhone 3G. From what he has told me he has done everything that had to be done with setting up Air Sharing (use this link as reference for you) but, when he gets to the point of dragging and dropping files he receives an error. I'm assuming that he's experiencing a problem with file transfer.

I'll ask him this evening what the exact error reads to give better clarification.

Definitely. I wanted to make the thread before I forgot. Heh.

His operating system: Windows XP
Firewall: Will find out
Error notice: Will find out

I'll make sure to ask him for a complete description.

I just heard back from him.

Operating system: Windows XP
Firewall: avast!
Error: "There was error in copying some or all files"

Other: has Adobe 9 and windows web folder update, Windows XP is oem (original equipment manufacturer)

I've had that error arise. Before Bonjour, it was because the iPhone's DHCP address had changed. Once after Bonjour installed, all I had to do was wake up the iPhone and start AirShare again. AFAIK, AirShare must be running and the phone "awake" for copies to occur.
So, all he has to do is just make sure that the phone is "awake" and it should work? FWIK, I think he had Bonjour installed.
