Hello,

I have a 2010 MacPro. I installed a nVidia GeForce GTX 760 a few months ago to support a larger resolution display. I had to install nVidia driver for the display card to play. Note that I never saw the Apple logo when booting, first thing I always saw was user login, but I was fine with that.

Today I performed an update to OSX (Yosemite) and all of sudden nothing will ever boot. I tried every possible combination of boot option and the only thing that does boot is the recovery mode, but that does not provide any option to fix display issues.

Any ideas how to fix this ?

Thanks
Alex

Are you familiar with this thread about Yosemite Security Update?

And from XLR8YOURMAC news page:

Nvidia OSX10.10.2 Driver

Nvidia download page for Graphics driver 343.02.02f03 for OS X 10.10.2 (build 14C1510).

Nvidia CUDA 7.0.29 Update for OS X
Nvidia posted a download page for CUDA 7.0.29 for OS X 10.10.x to 10.8.x. As before, it has this note on older GPU support:

"This driver does not support older generation GPUs with SM1.x. Please download CUDA 6.5.45 which supports SM1.x"

Here's the download page for CUDA 6.5.45 (from Jan. 28th, 2015). I'm not able to test this but wonder if it helps users that have reported problems in the past. (For example in this long thread on NVIDIA Card/CUDA & Adobe Premiere graphics problems.)

A GTX 760 shouldn't require a special driver. Did you install a 750? That would require a special driver and the security update and the public beta for 10.10.3 both kill the driver (the public beta is a serious no-no for Maxwell cards).
