Problem with bootcamp

I've been trying to partition my disk so I can install windows but it says there isn't enough space left on my disk. I don't believe it because it shows me having 54 gb free space and it's still not letting me. I've tried with many different sizes of partitions. I've tried repairing the permissions and I've verified the disk is fine but the repair disk button isn't able to be pushed.

Any suggestions?

when you say "it says there is not enough free space", do you mean that within bootcamp, where it lists your drives and how much free space there is, it is incorrectly reporting the amount of free space on the drive?

if so, it might be that an earlier attempt at a partition has gone missing, resulting in a loss of hard drive space. i would try various third party disc repair utilities to get the space back.

if not, it might be that there is a minimum amount of free space that os x wants to keep, for writing temp files, caching, etc.

In the disk utility app not the bootcamp assistant is where it says there's 54 gb free space.

What 3rd party repair apps are there?

Do NOT use Disk Utility to partition for Windows, only the Boot Camp Assistant. It won't work, regardless of any other issues you may be having.
