I'm having a bit of a nightmare with my documents folder and I can't figure out why...

Every file and folder inside 'Documents' keeps generating a copy... folders will appear again as <folder name>.sbd, and documents appear as <document name>.doc.sbd or <document name>.msf

It's only the documents folder, so what am I missing here?

Update: I think it might be something to do with Mozilla Thunderbird? Still no closer to sorting it though....

What type of documents are you saving in your documents folder, that are being duplicated? Have you had any program freezes, where you have to Force Quit? I know if you have a file open when you have a problem with a particular program that you will get a copy of that file saved if you have to force quit.

Thanks for reply...

No problems other than the duplicating, everything's running fine. Documents folder has all sorts in, but mainly Word for Mac files, sorted into various folders. Literally every folder and file in Documents is duplicated as .sbd or .msf (they re-generate if deleted) - there's only one folder that isn't: Inbox. Which leads me to believe it's something wrong with Thunderbird...

sounds like Thunderbird thinks that your Documents folder is a Thunderbird mailbox. Check your Thunderbird profile and install.
