Problem with G Drive since update

Since the IOS 17 update I can no longer back up or view back ups on my G Drive external hard drive (made by G-Technology, Inc.). I don't know if there is now an incompatibility issue or whether the G Drive needs an update as well (I can't find one...). Perhaps the G Drive is a goner. Has anyone else had this issue?
