I have a small problem in iTunes that I hope some of you are able to solve. I don't have any music directly stored on my computer, since it would take up to much space. Instead I have it stored in a non-edited version on an external hd. On my iPod (classic) I have the music I want the most (sorted, arranged, full information, album pictures, maybe names-editing in the cases where it was necessary etc.). The music on my hd, on the other hand, doesnt contain album pictures, ratings and other additional information I might have added along the way.

Here comes the problem: I finally discovered the Genius-version and found it very helpful in generating good playlists that I would never have thought of myself. However, it doesnt work with most of the songs on my iPod, probably because I didn't sync it with my library after I updated Genius. Do I now have to sync my iPod with the library on my external hd? And if I do so, wouldn't that: 1. delete some (or all) information on my iPod, 2. add all the songs I didn't want on my iPod in the first place?
