Just wondering whether anyone could help me out.

I am running iTunes on a PC running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. When I try to stream media from my iTunes library using any of my Apple devices (Apple TV, iPad and iPhone 4) using Home Sharing, everything works exactly as it should for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, then iTunes crashes (becomes completely unresponsive, and can only be shut down via the task manager). I then lose access to my iTunes library from my devices until iTunes is restarted.

I have re-installed iTunes and this has made no difference. I don't particularly want to reinstall Windows, so if anyone has any ideas as to what is causing this I would be very grateful.

My PC and Apple TV are both connected to the network via ethernet. My iPhone and iPad are (obviously) connected via WiFi. I am using the latest software versions on all devices. The PC I am using as an iTunes server is reasonably high-spec (Core i7, 4GB RAM).

I'm not sure if it helps, but when I can stream media directly from my iPhone & iPad to my Apple TV using AirPlay without any problems and the "Remote" App on both devices works perfectly.

I know it doesn't make sense, but some of us have been able to get the problem resolved by changing a setting on our routers. Find the option to set how long the router leases out IP addresses (DHCP). The default is probably 1 day. I changed this to the max (365 days) on mine and it fixed the problem completely. I haven't lost the iTunes connection in four days.

Read this post for more info.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the advice Todd.

Unfortunately, I tried this and it didn't work. I tried setting long DCHP leases and static IP addresses and I still have the same problem.

My problem seems a bit different from what is being described in the other thread. I am not just loosing the connection to the iTunes library from the devices (ATV, iPhone, iPad) - the iTunes program itself is crashing after max 30 seconds of streaming media to one of the devices.

As I said in the previous post, I want to avoid re-loading Windows (especially if this is part of a wider problem with Home Sharing that needs to be resolved by Apple) - so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
