Problem with iPhone Keyboard

I'm having a devil of a problem with my iPhone keyboard that may force me to return it. Slowly but surely the functionality of the lowest row of keys (return/space/go/etc) has disappeared. Instead when I press any of those keys it activates the button in the row directly above.

This is only the case on the keyboard, any other functions on the bottm of the screen (the phone menu, ipod menu, email check) works as usual. This problem occurs wherever the keyboard does - safari, mail, notes.

I've restored the firmware twice, once restoring my settings and once as a new phone. No luck. Help!

This has happened on mine as well. It seems to be a row just a bit further up than Mark2000's (sort of second row up on the keyboard) and only happens in some apps like the installer app 'install' button or the 'delete' key in the finder app. Bloody annoying, anyone know what's happening and how to fix it.

Same problem here. Started about a week ago. Cant use the space bar at all in SMS or mail. Totally worthless. That section of the digitizer works with all other apps though. Very strange.

Same problem here... I've tried to downgrade / upgrade with no luck.
(tried 1.0.2 , 1.1.1 and 1.1.2)

I have a Iphone week 38 and the Model No: A1203

Anyone with a solutions?

Yeah this has happened to mine, I restored it and now i cant even slide to unlock to re activate it, now its a very expensive piece of plastic !

Does anybody know, whether Apple exchanges those phones? Unfortunately I tried to update the firmware and now I'm not able to unlock it, because of non-working keys on the keyboard...

Same problem for me, the ".?123", "Space" and "Return" on my keyboard do not work anymore. Looking at these posts, it looks like the best thing to do is to ask Apple a new phone: http://www.modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=92592

Any other odeas of how we could repair our iphones ? (cause I bought it in the US but not leaving there..)
